Good, but could be so much better, though!

Foursquare is great, but a couple of really annoying features really bring this app down.
First is the widget, always asking/assuming Im at some random place around town. Why not just have a simpler widget that gives me the option to select what Im looking for nearby?
Second is the always-on location services. This really shouldnt be necessary and it bugs me that this is the only app on my phone that requests this, and I used several apps like this one for comparison.
Other than these shortcomings though, I like this app over Yelp or TripAdvisor for sure, and its more fun to use than just Google Maps.
